The Unveiling: A Good Friday Art & Music Experience

An immersive Good Friday experience with art and live music exploring themes of reflection and hope

Each year in Fort Lauderdale, artists, musicians, and the local community gather for The Unveiling, an immersive art experience that reimagines the emotional journey of Good Friday through contemporary art and live performance. Created by artist Shannon Almanzar and creative producer Jonathan Almanzar, The Unveiling transforms the traditional Stations of the Cross into eleven curated “art moments,” each pairing an artwork with a live musical performance. Guests move through the experience together, encountering moments of reflection, beauty, betrayal, grief, and hope through a series of powerful artistic interpretations. The music for the evening is curated and directed by Josh Diaz of KIDS and Jonathan Orange of JJ and The Florida Oranges, who assemble musicians and vocalists to perform songs that deepen the emotional tone of each station. Eleven artists and musicians come together to create a multi-sensory evening where art and music guide the audience through the unfolding narrative of what it means to be a human. Doors open at 6:30pm. A reception will follow in the courtyard. Free parking is located at the county courthouse parking garage (just to the west of the cinema). Paid parking is also available at any nearby city-metered spots.
