From Kitchen to Care: Bringing Food as Medicine to Life

Explore CareATC's model of using food as medicine to improve employee health and well-being

Join CareATC presenters Sarah Peele and Gabe Kramer for a look at how CareATC’s nationwide employer clinic model is expanding impact beyond primary care through Food as Medicine. Learn how CareATC partners with employers and local farms/Community Supported Agricultures to pair dietitian-led nutrition coaching with hands-on food access. This real-world model supports high-risk populations with a 12-week program that combines weekly produce bags, dietitian-approved recipes and education, and hands-on cooking demonstrations, making healthy eating practical, affordable, and sustainable. We’ll also share how CareATC measures impact through pre/post labs and vitals and what employers are seeing: improvements in A1c, LDL cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, and participant confidence.
