Join us in Downtown Pensacola as we officially launch the 2026 Pensacola Mardi Gras Season presented by the Ice Flyers Foundation at the annual Pensacola Mardi Gras Kick Off Celebration! Krewes arrive in full regalia and many bring their floats, which are parked along the closed streets surrounding Seville Quarter. This setup allows the public to walk up close, take photos, and meet the Krewes before their floats roll in the parade season ahead. As the evening begins, a brass band leads a lively second line processional through the lineup. The Town Crier welcomes each Krewe, shares a brief proclamation, and rings his bell, followed by a ceremonial blessing for the season from local clergy. Floats remain parked throughout the event. This parade in reverse is a beloved tradition that kicks off the season with energy and intention. Royalty from each Krewe join the second line processional route as their float is blessed, creating a growing processional that ends the evening with free King Cake for the community. Come celebrate the start of Mardi Gras—Pensacola-style!
