This will be an outdoor free-for-all Jam, meaning there are no structured classes or workshops so everyone can play and explore on their own time. With that said, Chad and Alina are experienced practicioners that can help teach and guide you through any level, even starting with the basics! Even if you've never heard of Acro Yoga or Flow Arts, this is really about connection and building trust of self and within the community. Acro Yoga is a partner-based practice that involves a base (lying flat on the ground) and a flyer (being supported in the air by the base) that work together to create poses and flows. It incorporates elements of Yoga, Dance and Acrobatics. You do not need experience in any of these to participate and don't ever hesitate to ask for help or guidance! Acro can be both active and passive/therapeutic. Bring a friend or come solo, there are plenty of other bases and flyers to partner with. It doesn't matter what something looks like or how much you can or cannot do! It's about having fun, building trust and joyfully exploring new shapes and flows with your partner. There is no competition found in these experiences, just exploration, joy and community. You will partner with several different people throughout a jam, each of varying experience and ability levels. There should always be mutual respect and consent between partners for everything that you do together. Always have a third person spot for safety when exploring something new. Flow arts include Staff spinning, juggling, Poi, Hula hoop, fan dance and many more. Feel free to bring your own props and/or learn from others. This is an alcohol & substance-free event.
