Rosen College Graduate Research Seminar

A seminar emphasizing the career-enhancing power of research for hospitality and tourism graduate students.

Our graduate students represent uniquely experienced and active professionals that set them apart from traditional graduate students. Many of them bring several years of industry experience and continue to work in various sectors of hospitality and tourism. While this practical background enriches classroom discussions and applied learning, it also builds a common perception that research is not relevant to their career paths. This seminar aims to shift that perception by increasing awareness of how research capabilities can directly support career development and open new professional opportunities. It will highlight that research is not only a tool for academic inquiry, but also a powerful tool for professional growth, innovation, and leadership within the industry. This seminar will showcase real-world applications of research, highlight success stories of industry professionals who have leveraged research in their careers, and provide opportunities for students to present topics aligned with their interests and expertise. Ultimately, this seminar helps students see how they can make a bigger impact and open up more opportunities in the industry. Location: Disney Dining Room Complimentary breakfast provided. Please RSVP by March 27 to assist with a final headcount for breakfast & materials. Want to Present? We welcome both research posters and creative course projects!
