Auntie Ann’s Letter: Behind the Book with Sarah Moskowitz

An insightful discussion with Sarah Moskowitz on her graphic nonfiction book about her Holocaust survivor great-grandaunt

JOIN US IN CONVERSATION WITH SARAH MOSKOWITZ AS SHE TAKES US BEHIND THE SCENES IN THE WRITING OF AUNTIE ANN’S LETTER. Bird's Bookstore is honored to host Sarah Moskowitz as she takes us behind the scenes in the writing of her new nonfiction book, Auntie Ann’s Letter, a graphic nonfiction book that shares the true story of Ann Tarkieltaub, the author’s great-grandaunt and a Holocaust survivor. In this session, participants will learn how the book was written and illustrated, and get to know more about Ann and her life. Sarah will talk about how she turned a short, three-page letter—where Ann described her experiences during the Holocaust—into a graphic story. Along the way, participants will connect with a story about courage, resilience, and finding strength during incredibly difficult times. When securing your ticket, please take note that there are two morning sessions, the first is from 10:00-10:40 AM, and the second is from 10:50-11:30 AM. There is no entry fee.
