See local history projected onto the walls of Miami Beach buildings and make new connections during this immersive walking tour and mixer at The Bass Museum of Art on Thursday, Jan. 15. Local historian Malcolm Lauredo will help us imagine what Miami Beach looked like a million years ago during a private tour just for We Met in Miami attendees during The Bass’ free Third Thursday event. Take a deep dive into local geological and cultural history with a tour route around The Bass block featuring wall projections that promise to bring historical findings to life. Concluding back inside the museum, guests are invited to explore the pop-up research tent of treasured articles, photographs, artifacts and more. Grab a glass of wine and start mingling. Explore museum exhibits. 6:30 p.m. Opening. Our group will gather in a private space in the museum, where we’ll begin with introductions and an opening icebreaker. 6:45 p.m. Facilitated conversations. Stoke your creativity and make new connections during intimate conversations guided by custom prompts exploring local history and art. 7:30 p.m. Local history tour with Malcolm Lauredo. Our group will experience a private immersive outdoor walking lecture that blends storytelling, mobile projections and archival discovery. 8:30 p.m. Mix and mingle.
