Overview Our guided tour will take participants on a trip through the bay to Shell Key, where we will have an opportunity to explore the island's rich biodiversity and enjoy a vegan catered lunch. What Should I Expect? The water is very clear and is only at few feet deep most of the way. You can easily see the sea grass bottom, the jumping fish, and migrating birds in the mangroves. The area is mostly sheltered from the wind and there will be minimal waves. Be prepared for about an hour of paddling each way. We will have tandem kayaks, so if you are new to kayaking you can pair up with a more experienced person to learn the ropes. Please expect- * A fun day out on the water * To get wet * To get up close to the local biodiversity of Shell Key * Warm weather and limited shading What Should I Bring? * A bag to protect your electronics * Backpack * Adequate water for 3+ hours * Snacks/lunch if you choose to not eat the catered lunch * Sunscreen * Bug spray * Hat/visor * Sunglasses * Proper attire to be out in the sun and in water Parking Please park along the W. side of Pinellas Bayway S.
