SBOT AALS 11th Annual Summit and Awards Luncheon

A two-day gathering of legal professionals for networking, CLE sessions, and award celebrations focusing on advancing equity through law and leadership.

SBOT AALS 11TH ANNUAL SUMMIT AND AWARDS LUNCHEON Join the State Bar of Texas African American Lawyers Section for the 11th Annual AALS Summit & Awards Luncheon, April 10–11, 2026, at Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth. This premier two-day event convenes attorneys, judges, law students, and legal professionals from across Texas and beyond for meaningful connections, professional growth, and celebration. The Summit begins Friday evening, April 10, with a networking reception, followed by a full day of CLE programming, networking, and recognition on Saturday. Attendees will enjoy up to six hours of CLEs and the annual Awards Luncheon honoring recipients of the Outstanding Achievement Award, Trailblazer Award, and Distinguished Jurist Award. This Year's theme, “Progress Under Pressure: Advancing Equity through Law and Leadership”, reflects both the significant strides made through the civil rights movement and landmark legal decisions that have expanded opportunity and justice for African Americans, as well as the reality that many of those gains face renewed challenges in today’s legal and social landscape. This theme acknowledges the role of law as a catalyst for progress while recognizing that equity is not self-sustaining. Through thoughtful dialogue, education, and principled leadership, the Summit seeks to examine how legal professionals can protect hard-won advancements, respond to emerging pressures, and continue pushing equity forward for future generations.
