The James Hall Quartet at the Live Oak!

An evening of live jazz with the James Hall Quartet at the Live Oak Cultural Center

The James Hall Quartet will again be at the Live Oak Cultural Center on Friday, April 24th featuring James G. Hall (vibraphone), John Olearchick (keyboard), Charlie Silva (bass), and Greg Parnell (drums) for an evening of live jazz. There's no admission charge, and doors open at 6:45 PM. The group has previously performed at the Live Oak for a number of concerts, including the Tribute to the Modern Jazz Quartet in 2024 and with vocalist Akina-Naomi last year. James Hall is a vibraphone player, pianist, and composer based in New Smyrna Beach. In his hometown of Pleasanton, California, he performed with numerous jazz musicians including Matt Finders, Andrew Speight, Anton Schwartz, Michael Marcus, Roger Glenn, and Erik Jekabson. Upon moving to Florida in 2019, he has performed with a wide range of jazz musicians including Antonio Escapa, Jeff Rupert, Scott Dickinson, the Orlando Jazz Orchestra, Tom Dietz, and Bobby Koelble, just to name a few, in the straight-ahead jazz and Latin spheres. Shown below is a video from the group's performance at the Live Oak Center in their tribute concert to the MJQ.
