Lilli and Lukas are soon to be wed until Lilli falls under the spell of Sinistra, a vain sorceress whose fawning owl Zachiel lures the girl to her secret aviary in the woods. By the time Lilli discovers her scheme -- to capture all the local maidens and transform them into birds so she can steal their youth and beauty -- it’s too late! Sinistra turns her into a nightingale and locks her up in a cuckoo’s nest with other birds who were once human. When the birds learn of Sinistra’s weakness, the magical Flower of the Dawn, Lilli realizes that their only hope to break the spell is to somehow attain this elusive flower. Inspired by the Grimm Brothers tale “Jorinde and Joringel,” the film is written by Allan Neuwirth, directed by Mark Risley and stars the voices of Mel Brooks, Jane Lynch, Matt Lucas, Jennifer Holliday, Lilla Crawford, Griffin Puatu, Jaimie Kelton, Erika Harlacher, Melissa Hutchison, Joey D’Auria, and Barbara Rosenblat. 39min.
