Learn and create a complete oil painting in one session with the alla prima technique

Every 3rd Saturday. Discover the beauty and immediacy of alla prima—a traditional oil painting technique in which a painting is completed in a single session, working wet-into-wet. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting, including materials, color mixing, brushwork, and composition, while gaining confidence in handling oil paint with clarity and intention. Each class results in a finished painting, allowing artists to build skill, spontaneity, and expressive strength over time. Beginner to advanced students are welcome. Required Supplies: Canvas, 16 x 20 inches Oil paint A basic mixing set should include cadmium red, cadmium yellow, ultramarine blue, burnt umber, yellow ochre, Phthalo green, and titanium white. Liquin, original Odorless mineral spirits or Gamsol Container for mineral spirits Paper pallet Oil paint brushes Pencil
