Earth Day Restoration Ramble: Carpenter Creek Cleanup

The Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program is proud to announce the return of our Restoration Rambles Program! These easy, guided walking tours highlight local restoration sites and will be offered monthly from November - March on rotating Fridays and Saturdays. Check our calendar at https://www.ppbep.org/get-involved for future program dates. Join us for a Restoration Ramble led by PPBEP staff and Moffatt & Nichol to learn about our upcoming restoration project for Carpenter Creek while wading through the creek to pick up trash. Waders and cleanup supplies will be provided, no training necessary! Please register all participants and include your shoe size if you would like to borrow waders from us. We will do our best to accomodate sizes, but participants that borrow from us may have to use an adjacent size if waders in their size is not available. Our supplies are limited, so please do not bring unregistered guests. Additional details including directions and where to park will be sent to registered attendees 1-2 days before the event. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers 16-17 must have waiver with parent/guardian permission. INTENSITY * This ramble will include steep and uneven terrain, ducking under occasional tree limbs, squishy/mucky sediment for walking, and wading through water that can get up to ~4ft deep in certain spots. * Waders are highly recommended. If you would like to come without waders, please wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet as well as clothes that can get wet. We recommend fabrics that are quick-dry or light weight. Please be mindful that mornings in April can still be a bit chilly and the water might be colder than you are used to. If you have any questions, please reach out to Bailey Walkinshaw at mbwalkinshaw@ppbep.org. ADDITIONAL DETAILS * If you are borrowing waders from us, please bring a pair of socks with you! * Hats, sunglasses, waders (if not borrowing waders from us)/appropriate water shoes/clothing, water, sunscreen, towels, and bug spray are recommended. * A map and additional details including parking instructions will be sent to registered attendees a day or two before the tour. Please note, registration is REQUIRED. Only registered attendees will receive the additional directions/instructions. We understand that last-minute emergencies and change of plans happen; to keep our programs free and accessible for interested community members, please let us know ASAP if you are unable to attend so we can offer your spot to someone else. If tickets are sold out, please email info@ppbep.org to be placed on the waitlist. We will let you know if a ticket becomes available and you will have 24 hours to claim it!
