Come for a Forty Acres Society reception and game watch as the Texas Longhorns take on the Auburn Tigers! Please join your fellow alumni and meet former Longhorn All-American offensive lineman and second round draft pick Douglas Dawson who went on to play 11 years in the NFL. Douglas Dawson is the Founder and Private Wealth Advisor of Dawson Financial. After graduating from UT Austin, Dawson enjoyed a distinguished NFL career as an offensive lineman from 1984–95, including four seasons with the Houston Oilers under Coach Jack Pardee and one season with the Cleveland Browns under Coach Bill Belichick. Besides playing college football for the Texas Longhorns and receiving All-American and Academic All-American honors as a senior, he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 1984 NFL draft. Dawson is a huge supporter of the Forty Acres Scholars Program in addition to other areas of the University.
