Beyond County Lines: Building a Regional Artist Ecosystem through the Deering Estate AT program. This talk explores how artist-centered initiatives can grow beyond institutional borders to foster a regional creative ecosystem. Focusing on the Deering Estate AT program, an interdisciplinary platform rooted in expanding the resources and artistic practices of local artists, the presentation examines how artist residencies and public programs can act as connective tissue between Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Through collaborative strategies, it highlights pathways for expanding artist opportunities, strengthening cross-county partnerships, and amplifying cultural narratives that reflect South Florida’s diverse communities and landscapes. About the Cultural Rendezvous Series The Cultural Rendezvous Series is a recurring gathering that brings together creative minds, local artists, and cultural professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and explore Broward County’s dynamic cultural ecosystem. Hosted by the Broward County Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program and curated by Sophie Blachet, the series alternates between informal networking meetups and expert-led conversations at arts venues throughout Broward County.
