I now offer Clay Club Open Studio for students of my classes to come back and make more self-directed projects. Learn more HERE. [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/clay-club-independent-study-tickets-954759049017?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true] Join me at my Columbia City clay and fiber art studio for a workshop creating your own stoneware candlestick holders, created using a pinch and construction method to build stacked shapes. Yours will be totally unique and can be minimalist or maximalist. You can use geometric and abstract shapes, or playful shapes like animals. Our pieces will be rustic and beautiful! I have tons of underglaze colors to paint them, or you can keep it simple. I'll be firing your pieces for you, first to bisque temperature, and applying a clear matte glaze, and then to mid-fire Cone 6 - so the earthiness remains rather than an overly shiny beginner feel. I welcome adventurous beginners, but this project may work best for people who have tried clay classes before. If you have never done a clay class, check out my Little Bowls or Nature Plates class, to get a little experience. Once your pieces are fired, they'll be available for you to pick up in about 4 weeks. You'll be able to make 1-2 candlesticks, depending on how many shapes you use in a piece.
