Day of Action 2026 - Literacy Kits Volunteer Project

Volunteer to assemble literacy kits for children, fostering a love of reading through interactive activities

Each summer, thousands of volunteers around the world unite for United Way Day of Action, a powerful day dedicated to making a difference. This year, United Way of Palm Beach County will bring that spirit to life by assembling literacy kits at the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County. These literacy kits open the door to imagination. They are filled with hands-on activities and engaging tools that turn reading into an interactive adventure. By blending fun with learning, they help children build essential literacy skills while creating meaningful moments of connection with their families. Each kit is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of reading. Once assembled, the kits will be shared with local children through United Way-funded partner agencies, extending the impact of your time and effort far beyond the event. Children aged 8 and up are welcome to join in and make a difference!
