The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a night-time paddle through Mosquito Lagoon to explore the beauty of bioluminescence. We’ll discover what these tiny organisms are and what makes them glow. **Important note: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to complete a waiver and organize your gear. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. ACTIVITY: Easy to moderate night-time paddling trip. Difficulty due to currents and wind. RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered. TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary. AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. ATTIRE: Wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet and clothing appropriate for a summer evening on the water. Pants and long sleeves are highly recommended due to biting insects. WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe or SUP), paddle, personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), whistle, electric white light (flashlight, lantern, headlamp) water to drink, bug spray ** Six sit-on-top kayaks (plus gear) are available at no cost. To reserve one for the tour, please register for one in the "add-ons" section under "tickets." You must have a general admission ticket for every kayak you reserve. First come, first serve!
