Dakari Butler Solo Exhibition Opening Reception

Meet Miss Jones. She's a sentient bowling pin living a perfectly ordinary life—and she's the star of Dallas artist Dakari Butler's newest solo exhibition. Join us for the opening reception of The Mundane, Uneventful, & Ordinary Life of Miss Jones, an immersive and interactive exhibition that follows Miss Jones through the routines of everyday living. Through large-scale fiber works, sculptural installations, and tactile objects, visitors will experience Miss Jones getting ready in the morning, driving home from work, eating dinner, and preparing for bed. Unlike most exhibitions, you're encouraged to interact with the work. Explore her makeup bag. Shake her pill organizer. Stir her spaghetti pot. Read her diary. Artist Dakari Butler combines textile manipulation, found objects, sound, and touch to create an experience that invites visitors to move beyond simply viewing art and become participants in it.
