The Sandhill Society's May Guided Hike

A free 1.25-mile guided hike featuring wildlife observation and maritime forest exploration

Join The Sandhill Society for a free guided hike! This easy 1.25-mile trail leads to a wildlife observation deck where we will view wading birds feeding in the marshy ecosystem. If we are lucky, we may see the resident Osprey out diving for fish. The 1.25 mile trek back to the parking winds through a maritime forest full of songbirds for us to explore! Bring a picnic lunch and explore Fort Caroline after the hike! Learn more about this national memorial here: https://www.nps.gov/timu/learn/historyculture/foca.htm [https://www.nps.gov/timu/learn/historyculture/foca.htm] Carpool is available from the Baker County Extension Office for adults & youth (no carseat). Carpool will leave at 9 am from Macclenny in order to arrive at the trail head by 10am.
