In this immersive workshop, we will break away from traditional embroidery patterns to create expressive, abstract textile collages directly in the hoop. You will learn how to build dynamic, tactile surfaces using a combination of foundational embroidery stitches and mixed-media embellishments. We will work with a rich variety of materials, from classic cotton floss to vibrant glass beads, seed beads, and found objects like vintage buttons. What We Will Cover: * Color Building: How to select and work within a striking monochromatic palette (like deep ocean blues, vibrant magenta, or sun-drenched yellows) to create visual impact. * Textural Stitching: Techniques for creating dense, varied textures using French knots, satin stitches, and organic layering. * Mixed Media Integration: The best methods for securely and artistically weaving beads, buttons, and dimensional elements into your fiber art. Location: FAVO Art Village Studio 238 To reach the studio, turn north on Highland Avenue from Colonial Drive, and enter the parking lot (second driveway on the left). There is a sign that says "Park Lake Presbyterian Church Parking, FAVO Art Studios". When you enter the parking lot turn right and then left at the rear of the lot, continue through the driveway connecting to a second parking lot. FAVO building is the L-shaped two story building. Class is upstairs at studio 238.
