Biggest Back to School Drive in Houston! 10,000 bagpacks! Family Event!

For 19 years, this Back to School Drive has helped thousands of students in Southwest Houston start the school year prepared, confident, and supported. This year, Houston Millennials is joining the effort to help expand the impact even further. The drive already supports around 5,000 students annually. Together, we are pushing to reach 10,000+ backpacks for local families, making this the largest back to school drive in Houston. 🎒 Families will find more than backpacks here. This is a full community day designed to support both students and parents heading into the school year. Expect a welcoming environment where families can access resources, enjoy the experience, and feel the support of organizations coming together for one shared goal. Everything is completely free for attendees. Bring the kids. Tell a neighbor. Share with a family that could use the support. Organizations are welcome to participate and support the effort. Supplies, backpacks, clothing, and basic needs add up quickly. This event helps reduce that pressure by providing essential items and connecting families with organizations that care about their long term success. Students receive backpacks filled with supplies. Families gain access to food resources, health services, and trusted community partners. When organizations come together, the impact grows fast. Houston shows up when it matters. VOLUNTEER WITH US Volunteers make this event possible. We are actively recruiting individuals, families, companies, student groups, churches, and organizations to help support preparation and distribution. If you have ever wanted to directly help local students start the school year strong, this is a meaningful way to do it. Volunteer shifts available: 🗓 Thursday, July 23, 2026 ⏰ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Setup support, organizing materials, logistics preparation. 🗓 Friday, July 24, 2026 ⏰ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Backpack stuffing, supply organization, event preparation. 🗓 Saturday, July 25, 2026 ⏰ 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM Event day support including greeting families, guiding lines, assisting distribution, and helping ensure a smooth experience for attendees. Volunteering is one of the most direct ways to support students in Southwest Houston. We also encourage volunteers to help share this event with friends, coworkers, and organizations who may want to participate. Prior to these 3 days, Amaanah Services will host a volunteer orientation zoom meeting in June. You will be provided the presentation whether you attend or not, you will also be provided a map of the mall. The last day to sign up for this event will be July 17th, 2026. This event requires you to stand for long periods of time, so please be mindful of that. We welcome all volunteers but don't have many places to sit within the leased storefront.
