Headwaters Sanctuary Tree Visit

A guided tour of an urban riparian forest with native tree spotlights for plant enthusiasts

Join Patrick and Becky McGuire on a walking tour of the Sanctuary's urban riparian forest. Take an in-depth look at Gum Bumelia, Fall Elm, and Hackberry. The Sanctuary features Live Oak, Bluewood Condalia, Western Soapberry, Wafer Ash, Paloverde, Texas Persimmon, Texas Palm, and many other native tree species. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable attire, and a hat. Do bring a bottle of water. This walk will be limited to 10 guests. Registration is required. As Headwaters Volunteer Trail Monitoring Team members, the McGuires may be encountered along Sanctuary trails on Fridays. Patrick McGuire has been a Headwaters Board of Directors member for three years. Native plant enthusiasts, the McGuires are certified Master Naturalists and members of the Native Plant Society and Salsa Squad Chapter of the Texas Invaders. Free Admission Donations support the Ewers Earth Care Education Fund for guide stipends.
