National Stop the Bleed Day- Baylor Centennial

Learn life-saving skills to stop severe bleeding with a presentation and hands-on demonstrations

The only thing more tragic than a death, is a death that could have been prevented. Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Centennial, 3rd floor conference room. The Stop the Bleed campaign was initiated by a federal interagency workgroup convened by the National Security Council and The White House. The purpose of the campaign is to build national resilience by better preparing the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies. Advances made by military medicine and research in hemorrhage control have informed the work of this initiative. Similar to the use of CPR or automatic defibrillators, improving public awareness about how to stop severe bleeding and expanding personal and public access to bleeding control kits can be the difference between life and death for an injured person. Please take a moment to get the information and have the tools to help save lives in the precious moments immediately after an emergency. Course Format: * Short PowerPoint presentation * Skills demonstration * Skills check All attendees will receive a certificate upon completion of the class.
