City of Water Day - Free kayaking in Carlstadt, NJ

TIKETS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE STARTING JULY 1ST. CITY OF WATER DAY IS A REGION-WIDE DAY OF FREE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS ON OR NEAR THE WATER! JOIN US FOR FREE KAYAKING IN CARLSTADT. Now in its 19th year, City of Water Day — taking place this year on Saturday, July 25 — is a region-wide day organized by Waterfront Alliance [http://waterfrontalliance.org/] and New York–New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) [https://www.hudsonriver.org/estuary-program], to champion a climate-resilient New York and New Jersey harbor. Dozens of communities across all five boroughs, Westchester and Rockland counties, and New Jersey will host events on and near the water that celebrate the importance of a resilient and equitably shared waterfront. From free kayaking to rowing to hands-on workshops, these events offer community members opportunities for fun, education, and access to their local waterfront. On July 25th 2026, we are hosting free kayaking for City of Water Day at River Barge Park and Marina in Carlstadt, NJ from 4pm - 8pm. Reserve your boat today, as tickets will sell out. Walkup space will be limited. Free kayaking is for 45 minute increments. Kayaking is for ages 14 and up at this location, no exceptions. To reserve a kayak, click the link below. This event is primarily intended for people who have never visited us before. If you are "regulars" we'd like to ask you to instead let some new people visit us and check out the location. If you reserve a ticket/time slot and cannot attend, kindly cancel your order so that someone else can use the time slot. We will reach out to everyone a week before the event to confirm their ticket. If you do not respond, your ticket may be cancelled. 2. We ask that all reservations return on time at the end of the rental, so that the boat can be ready for the next person. 3. No children under age 14. 4. All teens must be strong enough to paddle on live water, and mature enough to assist others if a situation arises. 5. Kayaking on the Hackensack River is not for beginners and best for those that have some experience. First timers may find this location difficult.
