Co-Regulation to Self-Regulation: Building Emotional Resilience in ECE

A 2-hour presentation on early childhood development, emotional resilience, and strategies for supporting children

This 2-hour presentation will focus on early childhood development and how we support infants through preschool age children. Participants will reinforce their foundation of child development knowledge starting with the five developmental domains (Language, Cognitive, Physical, Social, and Emotional). An underlying theme throughout the presentation will be social-emotional learning, and the importance of understanding how this effects behavior. This presentation will have a balance of theory and practice which includes back and forth learning between the participants and presenter, hands-on activities, and “take home” tips that can be implemented in classrooms and home. Strategies will be given to participants for engaging in meaningful interactions with their children and self-reflection on how their own growing up experiences impact these interactions.
