ABOUT DIEGO MERAVIGLIA Diego Meraviglia is an internationally recognized sommelier, wine educator and luxury wine executive with more than two decades of experience. Born and raised near Lake Maggiore in Northern Piemonte, Italy, he began his formal wine studies in Milan before building a global career spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. Today, he serves as the West Coast Brand Ambassador for Charles Heidsieck Champagne, bringing his deep knowledge of Champagne, terroir and fine-wine service to educational programs and luxury tasting experiences. A founding member and President of the North American Sommelier Association, Diego holds advanced credentials from the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers, the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators. He earned the prestigious AIS–Villa Sandi award for innovation in the sommelier profession and placed fifth in the Worldwide Sommelier Association’s 2013 Best Sommelier of the World competition. From 2017 through 2021, he also served as U.S. Brand Ambassador for Dom Pérignon, establishing him as one of the country’s most accomplished and engaging Champagne educators.
