Featuring a variety of media and disciplines, the exhibition reunites creative voices shaped by Dallas College and now shaping the wider cultural landscape. The residency gallery transforms a high-traffic corridor of the Hilton Anatole into a space for reflection, celebration, and reconnection. Emily Olshevski Emily Olshevski is a visual artist and student pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her work in painting and sculpture has been featured in galleries and private collections throughout Dallas. Her current series, Eucharist, explores themes of feminine identity, self-sacrifice, and the complex relationship between indulgence and violence. Lolita Khugayeva I am an international student from Kazakhstan. Pursuing education abroad is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have always believed that the most transformative experiences happen when you step outside your comfort zone. I am curious, driven, and always ready for whatever comes next. Art has always taken up a huge space in my life. I have always dreamed of becoming an international artist - traveling, collaborating, and growing through every experience and every person I encounter. My journey is all about exploring the world, pushing my limits, and staying open to whatever comes my way. I love art, running, traveling, learning, meeting new people, and immersing myself in diverse cultures. I had an experience as a volunteer in China with AIESEC in 3D printing program, which was a starting point stepping into uncertainty alone, navigating an unfamiliar place, and fully immersing myself in a different culture. That experience set everything in motion. I graduated College of Culture and Art in Kazakhstan and The Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts, Russia. I have participated in many competitions, won Grand Prix, held a solo exhibition, organized my own art masterclasses for children and adults back in Kazakhstan, and took part in various events presenting my work. Currently, I am a Dallas College student seeking scholarship opportunities and admission into an MFA program to fully integrate my art studies with my personal art experience. I give my absolute best in everything I do. I am maintaining a high GPA while actively participating in contests and student life, seizing every opportunity that comes my way. I have earned multiple awards and was accepted into my first artist's residency. I have big ambitions. I want to become someone who inspires people, makes an impact, and encourages others to explore, travel, and live outside their comfort zone.I'm working on a series of paintings exploring National Parks. It started last semester when I painted Zion National Park. That piece won an award and got selected for an international competition, which pushed me to keep going. So, when I got accepted into the residency, I knew exactly what I wanted to work on next. Right now, I'm working on two new paintings, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. What makes this project particularly interesting to me is that I've never actually been to any of these places. And honestly, that feels like part of the work. My imagination fills in what I don't know yet. I work entirely from photographs taken by my friends who have stood in these landscapes and tried to capture something of that feeling in a single frame, and I push those images further, searching for the emotional weight beneath the visual surface. I use acrylic paint for my initial layers and finish with oil paint to work through the details and highlights. I'm hoping to visit these parks in person for the first time soon and experience these landscapes with my own eyes. Come meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments at the ETC Gallery inside the Anatole.
