JOIN US FOR BIOECONOMY OPPORTUNITIES & OBSTACLES IN SOUTH FLORIDA! A collaborative workshop exploring how circular bioeconomy strategies can address South Florida’s environmental challenges while creating new economic opportunities. From water quality solutions to compost, biochar and biomass systems, this session will highlight pathways to turn local waste streams into value. This workshop is hosted by Florida International University Institute of Environment and Agroecology program in collaboration with the Seaworthy Collective. The workshop is funded by a USDA Post-doctoral Fellowship from Dr. Jazmin Locke-Rodriguez focused on bioeconomic initiatives, such as productive floating wetlands, for our region.
