Childbirth Education

Lower Keys Medical Center Childbirth Education classes cover a wide range of topics to prepare parents for delivery and for the changes that will occur when your baby is born. The free, 4-hour classes will include information on comfort options, strengthening coping skills, getting ready for your hospital stay, engaging your support team in your labor and birth, and what to expect when you go home with your new baby. Topics also include: * Signs and stages of labor * Comfort measures * Practice breathing, relaxation and helpful labor positions * Newborn and postpartum care * Interventions, such as epidurals and C-sections * Tour of the Maternity Unit at Lower Keys Medical Center Classes are presented in collaboration with The Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition. Lunch is provided. A ttendees are encouraged to bring a partner or support person.
