Orlando Women of Color Writing Community Your words carry power. Your story holds legacy. Your voice deserves space. Her Voice Rising is a writing community created by and for women of color—a space to write, reflect, and grow alongside others who understand the depth of your journey. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just beginning, this is your invitation to gather, create, and rise together. You’ll bring your own writing. We’ll hold the space. Together, we’ll honor what’s unfolding. Please complete the intrest form here: [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/18o4eibSgC3kUpHDhVR-LkdOGLFD8RgVn15n1ig99ouw/edit] Why This Space Matters Showing up for yourself with consistency and care. Claiming time for your voice and your writing practice. Growing in community with women who share your rhythm, roots, and resilience. This is not about perfect grammar, publishing deals, or literary critique. This is not a workshop or a place of formal writing instruction. However, I would like us to remain open to organic opportunities to help each other grow. This might look like someone opening up a meeting by sharing something they wrote, offering a writing prompt for the day to those who may be interested, or asking for feedback. We believe that writing is a sacred act of healing. We believe that when women of color gather in truth, transformation happens. What You Can Expect * Biweekly gatherings every other Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM * Space to write—quiet, focused, and uninterrupted * No formal instruction, but plenty of organic encouragement * Creative offerings from members (optional prompts, shared reflections, or personal readings) * Consistency and accountability in your writing * A non-judgmental, grounded space * Giving and receiving support with intention Details Every other Wednesday Time: 7:00–8:30 PM (every other Wednesday) Location: The Conduit, 1001 North Orange Ave, Downtown Orlando RSVP Now Complete the interest form, and share with a friend. Our first meeting will be August 13, 2025 A Note from the Founder "I am convinced that women sit in a distinct seat of honor and opportunity, as we help mold and shape generations to come. Our stories must not only be told, but our healing and growth must be lived loudly for the benefit of our generations. This space was born from that truth." – Desiree (learn more about Desiree on her blog [https://substack.com/@desireeschnoor], her website [https://www.changemecoaching.com/], and on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/letchange_changeme/])
