Spring 2026 Texas Infrastructure Liaison Officer (ILO) Certification Course

A 12-hour certification course in Austin for professionals to become Infrastructure Liaison Officers partnering with TxDPS

The Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) is seeking the participation of civilian professionals and sworn officers to become Infrastructure Liaison Officers (ILOs) as part of a unique public-private security program. To become an ILO, you must complete a 12-hour certification program at the TxDPS headquarters in Austin. ILOs are certified to identify and report infrastructure-related suspicious activities to the Texas Fusion Center. In return, ILOs are positioned to receive threat information that can help them secure their facilities. TxDPS is encouraging those with an ongoing responsibility for the security, safety, or emergency management of critical infrastructure to participate in the Spring 2026 ILO Certification Course. Anyone who has previously applied to the ILO Program is welcome to register on Eventbrite for the course. Seating is limited, so register TODAY! PLEASE NOTE: If you submitted a program application over one year ago, you will be asked to submit a new application. Also, your participation will be contingent on passing a criminal background check. Upon passing the background check, additional logistics details will be provided. In the interim, we advise that any travel arrangments made should be refundable.
